Orewa Primary School was established as part of the Orewa District High School in 1956. It became a primary school in 1974 and moved to its present site in Maire Road in 2005. The Board of Trustees, PTA and staff are committed to providing an environment that enhances effective learning for our students.
It is our aim to prepare students to be confident, caring and connected lifelong learners in an environment where effort is encouraged and success is celebrated. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, reflect on their achievement and set their next learning steps. A wide range of technologies are used as learning tools to equip students for the 21st century.
We have high expectations for all students and recognise that students have diverse abilities. Orewa Primary School is committed to empowering students to achieve personal excellence in a learning culture which caters for and respects individual learning needs. We have an excellent reputation for raising student achievement, particularly in Literacy and Numeracy, as well as providing a well-balanced curriculum where the physical development and creativity of students is highly valued.
To achieve our vision, "Success for all", the school provides a wide variety of cultural, academic and sporting opportunities. Students are encouraged to further their talents and 'have a go' in a diverse range of activities.
We are a well-resourced school with excellent facilities and motivated teachers.
There is a strongly developed partnership between school and home and we pride ourselves in successfully developing a professional learning community.
